Andrew Crease
The practice was founded by Andrew Crease in 2014. Andrew has 25 years’ experience in the property market. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an Hons Member of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation. He is a longstanding member of the Restaurant Property Advisors Society and is on both the Arbitration and Independent Expert Panels administered by the President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has been an APC Assessor Chairman sinc2000.
Having initially trained in the Valuation Office Agency, Andrew has worked in both private practice and public sector but since 1999 he has been in private practice specialising in licensed and leisure properties. On leaving Christie & Co in 2002, he was the founding partner of Intrinsic Retail and Leisure Property where he remained until after the merger with Hargreaves Newbury Gyngell, becoming a Director of the new company.
More recently, Andrew has been a Director of Jenkins Law where he remains as a consultant. Andrew has been involved predominately in professional matters including valuation and rating, rent reviews, lease renewal and expert witness but is increasingly offering acquisition and letting advice and advice on investments. He is a Registered Valuer and is on the RICS Register of Experts and has given evidence in the County Court, High Court, valuation tribunals, planning inquiries and before Government Committee.
Neil King
Neil King is a Chartered Surveyor having been elected a member of the RICS in 1992 and now has in excess of 25 years’ experience in the property industry. Neil is also a fellow of the Association of Valuers of Licensed Premises (AVLP) and a Registered Valuer under the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme.
Neil set out as an under-graduate at Whitbread & Company where he was first trained in the dark arts of licensed property evaluation before returning to complete his degree in Urban Land Economics in Sheffield. He later moved to Kent as a general practice surveyor with the Kent County Council where he gained a solid grounding estate management, property acquisition (including compulsory purchase) and disposal. Neil resumed his association with the licensed / leisure sector joining Christie & Co in 1999 where he also trained in the valuation of healthcare and retail businesses.
This varied early career has ensured the development of a rounded professional with a depth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of property disciplines in commercial property. Neil has retained and built on his specialisms in the licensed trade, leisure market and healthcare / medical as a valuer, a leasehold advisory specialist and professional advocate.
Neil’s career has included spells in specialist leisure firms Christie & Co, Porters Chartered Surveyors and Porters Intrinsic and Matthews & Goodman, whilst also operating as a freelance consultant for five years. Joining Andrew Crease & Company, in 2017 he predominantly undertakes rent reviews for both landlords and tenants, whilst engaging in a range of other Landlord & Tenant work to include lease renewals, advocacy / court work and acquisition and disposal advice. Neil also undertakes valuations within his specialist areas for secured lending, CGT/Inheritance tax, going concern business appraisals and accounting purposes.
